First & Second Grade Admission Policy
It is the policy of St. Paul’s School to ensure that each child admitted to First or Second Grade is ready to learn at grade level.
Age Requirement
In order to be admitted to 1st Grade, a child must attain the age of six (6) years old by December 1 and seven (7) by December 1.
Application Requirement
A St. Paul’s School Registration Form must be received by August 5.
St. Paul’s School Families
St. Paul’s School, Preschool and Parish families will be given order preference when considering admissions to First and Second Grade.
Registration
Registrations will be accepted from December 1 to February 28 of the previous school year. Eight (8) students will be admitted to the First Grade class and eight (8) students will be admitted to the Second Grade class. Remaining names will be added to a waiting list for the respective grade. If, in the determination of the First or Second Grade teacher, a child does not have the readiness skills needed for the respective grade based on observation and assessment, and a previous year school report, St. Paul’s School reserves the right to deny admittance.
Requirements for First and Second Grade
- Current Immunization Record
- Birth Certificates
- Successful Kindergarten and/or First Grade completion (Copy of Report Card.)
- Meets age requirement (Age 6 by December 1)
Notification of Acceptance
Families will be notified of an acceptance or wait-list, in writing, within two full work weeks after completion of all the above mentioned requirements.
